Calling all mummies, daddies & parents to be (pregnant or not)

I have talked many times about being a 'Type A' personality here and on the back of that, I have a little project to announce.

As many of you know,  I discovered I was pregnant last year at the same time my brother called to tell me I was going to become an aunty!

As with everything I do and as chronicled here, I spent 9 months researching every possible aspect of pregnancy, birth and the early stages of parenthood. I read every book, considered every method and recommendation and joined every baby related site I could find.

Despite this, I still found great big gaping holes in many areas and struggled to find an online forum that gave me a sense of community despite contributing regularly to quite a few.

With everyone around me having babies or raising children (I will have become an aunty 3 times within the past 10 months on top of becoming a mummy) and with my thirst for information shared by those around me, I decided to get proactive and develop my own online communities for mummies and daddies out there.

Mama Knows Best intends to be a family friendly parenting community that covers every aspect of parenthood from trying to conceive right through till starting school and a little beyond.

I have a wide circle of friends and contacts whose expertise the site intends to draw on ranging from well regarded obstetricians, dieticians, chefs, health experts, childcare professionals, early primary teaching, birthing practioners, midwives and most importantly, real life mummies and daddies.

Mama Knows Best will become your one stop shop for advice, discussion, education, nutrition, shopping, best buys, party planning ideas and everything in between because lets face it, Mama truly Does Know Best.

If you are interested in joining Mama Knows Best on facebook, message me here on the blog and I will tell you how to find me on facebook so I can add you to the group - the group is open to parents or those planning/hoping to become parents.

Update - family diary

For those that were interested in the master plan diary I posted about, I found one at Kikki k for $35.

It has lots of extras too in the back including tear out shopping lists, a birthday calendar and sections to note favourite websites, gift ideas, books to read, budget, shopping wish list, important contacts etc.
